Art Around the Region Print E-mail

In this section, we’d like to highlight some of the exhibits that are going on in gallery spaces throughout the region. This will not be a comprehensive listing, but rather a sampling of what is out there. Please keep us informed as to galleries or museums we may miss.

Art-To-Go: Images & Ideas for the Classroom

Art-To-Go is the BMA’s once-a-month gift to teachers. It’s a great teaching resource and it’s FREE. Every month, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to a printable full-color image of a BMA artwork. The image is accompanied by a brief, lively commentary that focuses on a single important teachable idea. It closes with a “Challenge” encouraging students to experiment with that same idea in their own artwork. An easily accessible archive of Art-To-Go selections is always available.

To register for Art-To-Go, please send your name and e-mail address to Linda Andre at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

The BMA is hosting a Family Day, Sunday, Feb.8th to celebrate African American History Month.

Cultural Alliance of York County  The Cultural Alliance of York County can help you locate an artist to fund a special project that your entire school can enjoy. Third grades students at Hayshire Elementary School in the Central York School District recently had the opportunity to create the “Friendship of the Colors” tile mosaic in their courtyard. Student drawings were compiled by resident artist, Justin Ayala. Using these drawings, a beautiful project was completed with the students. Our CYSD Panther Foundation and the Cultural Alliance of York County funded the entire project. www.culturalalliance-york.org.
