Warhol Museum Working Internationally Nicole Dezelon, the Assistant Education Curator for School and Teacher Programs reports that the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh just launched a fabulous online curriculum and resources for teachers this year: http://edu.warhol.org/index.html
This curriculum teaches across the arts and humanities and has received
national and international attention. It was recently translated into Cyrillic and the Warhol staff led international teacher/student workshops in Russia using the online site. Plans are currently in the works to translate the curriculum into Portuguese as well as other languages!
We are proud of the ground-breaking work done at the Warhol and the
online resources they provide to arts educators internationally.

Congratulations to the Carnegie Museum of ArtCarnegie Museum of Art is one of the best art museums for kids in the
country according to Child magazine. When editors at the magazine conducted a first-ever data-driven survey to assess the family friendliness of American art museums, Carnegie Museum of Art ranked in the top five. The museum earned kudos for free, weekend drop-in art making programs for children and families; gallery play dates for preschool-aged children; art classes and summer camps for kids of all ages; the Art Cat mascot and his kid-friendly audio tour; and family-oriented conveniences including free strollers and kid-friendly dining. News of the ranking appeared in the March 2006 issue of the magazine. PAEA member Nikki Faychak Kalcevic splits her time between being a school based teacher and working at the Carnegie. She credits her co-worker, Melanie Dunn. "Melanie was instrumental in creating the pre-k art programs at the museum, and should be credited for her energy and enthusiasm." Both Melanie and Nikki created Gallery Play Dates, a program for parents and their children aged 3-4. The PAEA applauds their work and the Carnegie for creating an atmosphere and programs that support kids and families.
