Outstanding Elementary Art Educator
Sharon Cressinger is winner of the 1998 Excellence in Arts in Education Award from the PA Coalition for Arts in Education and since that time has had four solo gallery exhibitions of her art and has won over six top awards in over 20 juried shows.
Her students have won four National awards in the Crayola Dream Makers contests and over 500 of them designed and glazed clay tiles for their renovated school building walls. Her students’ work is in the permanent collection of the PA Department of Education and the Department of Education in Washington D.C.
In addition to working as an artist and teacher, Sharon provides private tutoring in art. She taught at Bucknell and Susquehanna Universities, organized Van Go visits, Youth Art Month celebrations, and initiated a student art gallery at her school.
