Outstanding Middle Level Art Educator
 Kris Fontes is a 2005 candidate for National Board Certification and is on the conference committee for the 2006 PAEA conference in Eire. In 1999 she worked as graphic designer and website manager for the Erie PAEA conference committee. Kris organized the annual Youth Art Month exhibit at Millcreek Mall consisting of over 500 works of art by students. She is currently Region 2 Representative to PAEA Board and has presented at three PAEA regional in-service.
In 2003 Kris was honored by Intel Corporation’s Innovation Odyssey for outstanding Technology lesson Day 270 for Lego Animations and continues to facilitate learning opportunities that support technology learning by all students.
Fontes has published Elegant Art Nouveau in School Arts, CD Op Art Mobile for Arts and Activities and is a regular contributor to the Incredible Art Department Online Art Resource. She has worked with Kids as Curators in a partnership between the Erie Art Museum/Met Life, and Union City Middle School.
