The Clyde M. McGeary Scholarships Print E-mail

Brianne FerryBrianne Ferry

Brianne Ferry is a junior at Mercyhurst College majoring in Art Education and Elementary Education. She was a Work Study Program Assistant from 2006-2007. As Vice President of the NAEA Student Chapter at Mercyhurst College, Ms. Ferry helped to raise over $6,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank. She also volunteered and participated in many other service projects including the 2008 Art Fair that included children from the Martin Luther King Center, Girls & Boys Club and YMCA. Brianne has volunteered in many organizations such as the Erie Art Museum and the Neighborhood Art House and has assisted in projects such as the Love Luggage Project, Christmas on Campus and many fundraising events.

Ferry has been involved in the NAEA and PAEA:

  • Served as Vice President of NAEA Student Chapter at Mercyhurst College, 2006-2007
  • Member of the NAEA Student Chapter Art Ed. Club at Mercyhurst College, 2005-2009
  • Presented “Technology and Art Lesson Plans/Exchange” at the PAEA Conference, 2007
  • Presented “Establishing a NAEA Student Chapter on Campus: Lessons Learned in The First Year” at the PAEA Conference, 2006
  • Attended the NAEA Conference in New York, 2007
  • Volunteered at the PAEA Conference/Planning Committee, 2006

 


Megan Jell

Megan JellMegan Jell is a student at Mercyhurst College majoring in Art Education and Art Therapy. She is also currently working as a Therapeutic Staff Support at Children’s Behavioral Health in Erie, PA. In the past she has also taught at the Gannondale Residential Center for Girls as the Assistant Art Teacher. She also designed an art curriculum for the Erie Maritime Museum while working as an instructor and as a seaman on the U.S. Brig Niagara. In addition, she won the Sr. Angelica Cummings Creative Excellence Award in 2007, was inducted into the Mercyhurst College Service Honor Society and Kappa Delta Pi (International Education Honor Society) and received the Mercyhurst College Presidential Scholarship.

  • Volunteered at the PAEA Conference/Planning Committee, 2006
  • Co-Presented “Taking Charge as a First Year Professor: The Development of an art Education Program” at the NAEA Conference in New York City, 2007 (She was a Research Assistant from 2006-2007.)
