Sharon
possesses wonderful qualities of dedication
and professionalism in the field of art
education. She designed and teaches an exceptional
high school course. Art for Public Places
that has been incredibly successful. As
a result of this class, the high school
halls are adorned with phenomenal murals.

John
is an active member of PAEA, currently a
regional representative. He has attended
numerous conferences, workshops and leadership
training sessions. He recently won the 2000
International Sculpture Center Award for
Outstanding K-12 Art Teacher. John is passionate
in his feelings toward his profession, his
own artwork, and of teaching that knowledge
to his students.
John, and his co-sponsor, Sharon Wall,
through the National Art Honor Society in
the Altoona School District, has provided
the opportunities for the students to expand
their horizons. Activities that occur throughout
the year include: Annual Candle Light Induction
Ceremony for new members. Homecoming Queen
Candidate, School-wide Spaghetti Dinner
Fund-raiser, “Orphan” art sale (unclaimed
student work), Candy fund-raiser for Field
Trip, Annual Field Trip to an Art Museum
or Arty Place, YAM Art Society can certainly
be proud of all that John and Sharon have
achieved over the years.
