Outstanding Elementary Art Educator
Emilee
Taylor is the Pennsylvania Art Education Association's
choice for Outstanding Elementary Art Educator for
2000. Her list of accomplishments is long and varied.
It is clear that she is dedicated to her students
as well as her community. Add to this her competency
as a professional and you come up with a winning combination.
The list of honors and awards earned by her students
is almost as long as the list of Ms. Taylor's exhibitions
of her personal art work. She was the recipient of
a fellowship from the Council for Basic Education
which enabled her to travel to Korea and study. She
used her knowledge to share the rich Korean culture
with her students and many other groups.
As a teacher for the School District of Philadelphia
Emilee Taylor has earned the respect and admiration
of her peers. She presently administers the Mentally
Gifted Fine Arts program at Joseph J. Greenburg Public
School. As she shares her own gifts with her students
Emilee has gone beyond the walls of her school to
enhance her students' education.
PAEA is privileged to have such an exemplary member
of the art teaching profession as a member. She has
shared her expertise with fellow members at PAEA conferences
and has attended national conventions of NAEA. It
is our pleasure to award Emilee Taylor as Outstanding
Elementary Art Educator for the year 2000.
