Stanley
C. Strauss serves as Vice President and General Manager
of the Institutional Products Division of Binney &
Smith Inc., makers of Crayola brand products. In this
position, Strauss is responsible for all divisional
functions including marketing, finance and operations.
The division services the education, office products,
special markets and specialty retail channels. Besides
his divisional responsibilities, he is a Corporate
Officer and member of the Management Committee.
Prior to joining Binney & Smith, Strauss served
as Vice President, Marketing and Sales and as General
Manager, Consumer Goods Division, of St. Regis Paper
Company, West Nyack, New York. Before joining St.
Regis, he served 14 years with Warner Lambert Company,
Morris Plains, New Jersey earning increasing responsibility
before becoming Vice President Sales of their Personal
Products Division. Pervious experience included several
positions with Kraft Foods.
Strauss currently serves on the Steering Committee
of the Washington, DC based Arts Education Partnership,
the Foundation Board of Northampton Community College,
Bethlehem, PA and the Board of the New York City based
Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, Inc. He is
a former Director of the National School Supply and
Equipment Association (NSSEA) and a member of the
Executive Committee of Minsi Trails Council of the
Boy Scouts of America
Strauss and his wife, Carol, reside in Brookside,
New Jersey. They have three grown children –
Mark, Gregory and Christopher.
Lynn
Berkowitz is the Director of Education at the Allentown
Art Museum, Allentown, Pennsylvania, a position she
has held since 1996. Before coming to the Allentown
Art Museum, she taught and was coordinator of the
undergraduate and graduate Fibers Department at Marywood
College, Scranton, PA, from 1992 – 1996. During
her tenure at Marywood, she served as Interim Director
of the Contemporary and Suraci Galleries, 1994 –
1995. From 1989 – 1991, Lynn served as Gallery
Director for contemporary crafts at the Luckenbach
Mill Gallery of Historic Bethlehem, Inc., Bethlehem,
PA.
Berkowitz received her BFA in Crafts: Woodworking,
summa cum laude, from Kutztown University; she received
her MFA in Fibers from the Tyler School of Art of
Temple University. In addition to her appointment
as Chair of the Museum Division of the Pennsylvania
Art Education Association, Lynn has served or is presently
serving on the boards of Satori, Northern Lehigh School
District Education Foundation, Arts-in-Education Coalition,
Lehigh Valley Arts Council and the Visual Arts Committee
of Mayfair, an Allentown, PA, community arts festival.
Lynn has been actively involved in organizing Allentown
Art Museum /various community collaborations since
1998 including the securing of funding, doing the
project and evaluating the project. These extended
artist residencies have included or presently include
working with the Lehigh County Prison, The Allentown
Boys and Girls Club, The Art Academy of William Allen
High School, South Mountain Middle School, Moravian
Academy and The Program for Women and Families.
Lynn and her husband Bob reside in Slatedale, Pennsylvania.
