Friend to Art Education

A true friend of the arts, Dr. Joyce Nicksick, Superintendent of Wilmington Area School District has a passion for music and art, and more importantly a great respect for the students who create it.

Dr. Nicksick consistently shows a deep appreciation for the hard working students and art instructors in her district. In her official capacity she has lent her legal and administrative expertise to help students gain a wide view of the visual arts community, demonstrating her commitment by, among other efforts, sending fifty Wilmington Area students to Harrisburg for a mural dedication ceremony.

Because of her strong support and financial commitment, art students in Wilmington Area Schools have had a chance to experience a variety of visual arts media, including ceramics, chalk, charcoal, and mosaics. At a time when many art budgets are being slashed to the pencil on paper bag level.
