Trout Gallery Workshop
Mark Saturday, November 8th, on your calendars for a Region 7 Act 48 Workshop and Continental Breakfast. the location is the Trout Gallery, Dickinson College, Carlisle and the time is 8:30-12:00. Wendy Pires, the gallery director, will introduce us to the contemporary paintings of Joyce Kozloff. Kozloff portrays power and global politics through imagery of cartography and maps, many resembling antiquity and territorial conquests. She often invites the viewer inside her work by rendering her ideas on spherical surfaces. She exhibits at major galleries around the world. A one hour hands on workshop with the project suitable for classroom use will be offered.
Pinwheels for Peace
International Day of Peace, Sept. 21,'08
Pinwheels for Peace is an art literacy installation project started in 2005 as a way for students to express their feelings about what's going on in the world and in their lives.
Participating in the projects is simple: Students create pinwheels of all shapes and sizes. The students can write their thoughts about war, peace and tolerance on one side of the pinwheel.
