PAEA is pleased to offer for their second year, an ED&I grant. This opportunity is designed to increase equity, diversity, and inclusion in the field of visual art and design education and remove barriers of access for underrepresented individuals. PAEA makes the commitment to support the inclusion of diverse visual arts educators, with a priority focus on first-time attendees of a PAEA Conference, in hopes of creating more equitable pathways to leadership in the arts.

This grant is designed to support visual arts and design educators on their path of continued professional learning, teaching, and leadership development. Those selected will be asked to engage with the PAEA ED&I Committee for continued sharing and connection.

Interested individuals will complete this brief survey including an “about me” essay that addresses their experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion in the field.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must spend at least 51% of their professional work as a visual arts/design education professional in the field of art and design education. Current members and prospective members are both eligible.

DEADLINE: Applications for this scholarship close on June 3rd, 2022

NOTIFICATION: Recipients will be notified in early August.

AWARD: Selected recipients will receive complimentary 2022 PAEA Conference registration and complimentary one-year PAEA/NAEA membership, both of which PAEA will handle the registration for. In addition, recipients will receive reimbursement for up to $500 (not to exceed $500) to cover travel and lodging for the conference after receipts are provided to our treasurer. More information will be provided on this process to the awardees.
