December's PAEA Student Artist of the Month is
Olivia Gross!
Olivia attends Canon-McMillan High School and was nominated by PAEA member Kara Stauffer.
What Kara has to say about Olivia:
Olivia is an exceptional student in my Advanced Placement Art & Design course this year. Olivia is a naturally gifted student who has used her ambition and focus to capitalize on her innate ability. In class, she is a well-spoken young woman with an unusual ability to understand complex themes and recognize these themes in other connected works and real life. Her artwork is imaginative and unique as it reveals Olivia’s personal voice in a way that makes her stand out from her peers. Olivia proves to be hard-working and reliable. During study halls or lunch periods on most days, Olivia spends additional time working on her art. She holds a 4.2 grade point average and can be counted on to work independently and to meet deadlines and goals.
Olivia had this to share about her biggest influence:
My biggest influence throughout my artistic journey has been my older sister Emily. She has inspired me to experiment and continue my route of art. My sister, although science-oriented, has always enjoyed seeing my pieces and watching my skills grow. Being able to watch her work hard in her studies has pushed me to challenge myself.
