February's PAEA Student Artist of the Month is
Bethany Conover!
Bethany attends Council Rock School District and was nominated by PAEA member Michael Catalano.
What Michael has to say about Bethany:
Bethany Conover is an exceptional art student and has been actively engaged in art coursework and service projects in our school's National Art Honor Society Chapter. She has taken a variety of art courses, almost all of the Drawing, Painting, and 2D courses offered in the department, and this year she is embarking on both 2D and 3D AP Studio Art & Design. Bethany’s creativity and observational drawing skills have grown and progressed beautifully through each course she has taken. She has a great passion for art and a level of personal dedication in every art course that Bethany has taken at Council Rock High School South.
Bethany has an undeniable passion and drive to create, it is part of who she is. Bethany comes from a creative family that fully supports her desire to embark in a career in the arts. Bethany is a student eager to learn and grow with an ultimate goal to enter a career path in illustration and game design. She makes the effort to consistently do her best, listens attentively to lectures, reaches out for a critique and actively participates in discussions surrounding art. She receives critical feedback with maturity and applies it in a reflective manner leading to growth and success. All of Bethany's hard work has led to acceptance into SVA, Ringling, RISD, Arcadia, Marywood, and Kutztown undergraduate Art & Design programs of study. Under all the hard work Bethany is a kind empathetic student with a heart of gold.
Bethany had this to share about the importance of art education:
Art education helps me bring out my creativity. It is my chance to express myself and draw what I dream to achieve. Whenever I create art, I push myself to be better each time. I learn from my mistakes when drawing. My art teachers over the years, and fellow students guided me to become the best artist I can be. I can create art at home, but when I'm guided by art education, I have constructive criticism, guidance, support, and even more inspiration. It is also a calm break from my day. It is time for me to do what I love, create art.
