February's PAEA Student Artist of the Month is
Zoie!
Zoie attends Martin Luther School and was nominated by PAEA member Margo Wunder.
What Margo has to say about Zoie:
It has been a pleasure getting to know Zoie! I am so impressed with her studio habits both in and outside of the classroom. She is ever eager to tackle projects utilizing her creativity and problem-solving skills. She is also a willing collaborator, happy to share her knowledge and skills with a partner. As mentioned earlier, Zoie's work does not stop when Art class is over. I look forward to seeing all of her sketches and anime drawings done in her free time outside of school. Zoie is driven to improve and appreciates feedback and criticism- ready to put into action those observations to stretch and to grow.
Zoie had this to share with other artists:
My biggest influence is my best friend, Layla. We met in 5th grade and I never even once thought about Art until I met her, At first, I was jealous of her amazing Art skills, but then that jealousy soon turned into desperation to want to be better. Being the amazing friend that she was, she showed me tips and tools and ever since then my Art journey began.
Art class/ education is important because it helps you release your curiosity in a fun, expressive way. For advice I would say go out of your comfort zone, stretch your pencil and explore all of the art in the world
