PAEA Student Artist of the Month is
Hazel G.
Hazel attends Central Elementary and was nominated by PAEA member Kelly Koble
What Kelly has to say about Hazel:
I have had the pleasure of teaching Hazel for six years, and throughout that time, she has consistently impressed me with her thoughtfulness, creativity, and strong work ethic. She approaches every art project with enthusiasm and care. She comes to class each week, excited to explore new ideas and techniques. Beyond her artistic talent, Hazel stands out for her kindness and maturity—she is often the first to lend a hand to a classmate or to take a moment to ask me how my day is going.
This year, as a 5th grader, Hazel serves as one of my Art Room Helpers. She arrives in the morning with a positive attitude, ready to assist with preparing materials and organizing supplies for the day’s classes. Her reliability, cheerful nature, and willingness to help make her a wonderful role model for other students and a joy to have in the art room.
“My biggest influence is the world and everything in it. It gives me great ideas. For example, when I look at buildings and nature, things pop into my head and I like to create them on paper. When I draw, it makes me feel relaxed and calm. I like to dream and wonder about what I can make. The world is my biggest influence because of all the things there are in it. The people, the animals, and the possibilities. But overall in the world, my biggest influences are my family and my art teacher, Ms. Koble. I love art and it is a big part of my life. I thank all of the people who make it possible for me to do art in my everyday life. Thank you very much, Hazel.”
