November's PAEA Student Artist of the Month is
Rylie!
Rylie attends Emmaus High School and was nominated by PAEA member Katie Pfenninger.
What Katie has to say about Rylie:
Rylie demonstrates exceptional commitment to her artistic pursuits, consistently investing time beyond her academic requirements to realize her creative vision. Throughout her high school career, she has maintained a strong focus on artistic development, currently enrolled in advanced courses such as Crafts Level 3, Printmaking Level 3, and AP Studio Art. Rylie is an active member of the National Art Honor Society. Her work has gained recognition through multiple awards from Scholastic Art and Writing.
Rylie had this advice to share with other artists:
Try not to put so much pressure on yourself and your art work! I’ve found that even though I’m often a perfectionist with my own work, I need to destress by taking some time to work loosely or on a less high stakes project. It’s also always okay to take a step back and a break from a project! Have fun with art, once it becomes a big stressor you may lose that spark! Keep creating and trying new things!
