2025 Conference Proposals are now being accepted!!
October's PAEA Student Artist of the Month is Jennifer Dai!
Jennifer attends Welsh Valley Middle School and was nominated by PAEA member Catherine Petrino.
Catherine had this to say about Jennifer:
Jennifer has shown a true commitment to improving and building on her art skills, methods, and techniques. When several options for an art project is offered, Jennifer has challenged herself to try the more challenging option and seen the project through to finish successfully. Her dedication to art is unmistakable and her grit to work through challenges in her art is nothing short of impressive.
Jennifer had this to say about her influence in her work:
Art has always been my pride or talent that when I feel worthless, I can tell myself that at least my art is pretty good, I can tell myself that at least my art is pretty good. But if you ask who's my influencer, I will tell you I think it is myself, or my feelings or sensitivity. I feel like when I was little especially when I grow up, I was able to pick up things that some people don't, like sometimes the looks on others face that I can tell is annoyed or impatient, or sometimes a text that's sent from friend that I feel like they're not in a place that they want to talk to me. People said that is not true, don't overthink it,, and so negative. But I can just feel the difference in the people when they are happy or not.And when I feel drained in worries of others thoughts about me, I need to tell someone and express myself and I use art to express my feeling or journaling. I think art is really powerful, it means more than just drawing and doing art things. I think it means imagination and dreaming. Art can express many things, like mood, feeling, atmosphere or just your perspective, so mostly it is my feeling that guides me to draw my art. So my biggest influencer is my inside self.
